To be accepted into the highly competitive graduate program in composition at the Frost School of Music, students must submit a portfolio of their own compositions (see link below). The faculty is looking for evidence of notation ability, craft, and especially creative thought. To be considered for a teaching assistantship, students must interview on campus with the composition and theory faculty. For more details about the interview, please see our FAQ.
